Film maker Nageesh Kukunoor hates hard selling his films but today you can’t make a film and leave it at that. ‘Selling is an unavoidable part though it is a huge distraction and takes away most of my time’ he quips, even though he continues to sell his films. ‘Having called it both unavoidable and horrible, I put on a mental cap during the time I have to sell my films. I don’t like it and don’t endorse the concept even in my personal life I don’t sell anything to anybody’ he says.
But in the midst of all this what makes him happy? ‘ That I can make my kind of movies’ says the director who did a years research on Bollywood before concluding that he couldn’t make films that would work in here. ‘A film maker can’t change his or her style. I can’t wake up one fine morning and make a film like Karan Johar. My instincts are my instincts. Yes one only gets smarter and works towards getting more attention that’s all.’ he quotes. He has worked with John Abraham in No Smoking and Aashayein and is currently working with Akshay in Eight By Ten.
